How to Develop Great Instincts

Have you ever seen a professional who just seems to make decisions and/or take action that produce profitable outcomes. Almost as if everything they touch turns to gold. They know what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. What you have witnessed is someone who has transformed skill into instinct. They have learned the art of applying their accumulated wisdom, knowledge, talent, and expertise. How do you do the same? By practicing, which means to be intentional about applying what you know and can do in real world situations. Work on your negotiating skills, sales skills, public speaking, management, etc... skills in private and in public. It is important to do what you want to master as much as possible until it becomes second nature. Then, you will look for oppportunities to perform what you have worked so hard to become an artisan at. That's when instincts kick in because you know not only how to think your way through situations, but to "feel" your way through as well.
