Build Something That Outlives You

Even though I am "about my business" and believe in generating a very nice income, at the end of the day, I am convinced that the thing that will matter most to me when I'm near death (other than my relationship with God and my family) is building something that will live on after I'm gone. It easy to get our priorities mixed up and end up chasing things that we (and those important to us) could care less about once we accomplish/obtain them. We all are given great gifts and if you are an entreprenuer of some sort, you have the tremendous opportunity to create something that will be of eternal value. There hasn't been a financial metric discovered that can calculate that. Building something that outlives you doesn't necessarily refer to something tangible, rather it is investing in and building up people who in turn will do the same once you hand them the torch. And that my friend, has a plethora of ways of expressing itself.
