Opportunities; Thoughts of an Entrepreneurial R.E.B.E.L. (Volume 20)
It has been said that the hallmark trait of an entrepreneur is that they can see opportunities that others cannot. I venture to argue that that statement is true, but is only the tip of the ice berg. The author of this blog is beginning to understand that though an entrepreneur may recognize an opportunity, they were first prepared beforehand to see it. It's hard to recognize or see something that you don't know exists. This is not to say that every entrepreneur knows that a new venture or market exists beforehand, but there are life experiences, triumphs, and failures, and other elements that bring them to a place of having a special insight to discern a potentially successful venture. In essence, they have become the opportunity they recognize before the opportunity ever opens up. All those long days and hours of hard work, trial and error, self education, mistakes, risks, successes, prayer, giving, and reflection prepare them for that "aha" moment. So the object is not necessarily to chase after the next big thing (more than likely its too late to get on board when the masses recognize that "its" hot). The aim should be to become the opportunity first, then there will be no way that you will miss your golden opportunity when it is presented. This blog was inspired by the Holy Spirit (The ultimate business person).
