Rise Above the Politics: Thoughts of an Entrepreneurial R.E.B.E.L. (Volume 8)
Trying to establish ones company by means other than hard work, sacrifice, and commitment is the epitome of business politics. You can hear it in my written tone that I view business politics in a negative light, but nonetheless those of us in business have to deal with it.You can learn how to effectively manage business politics and those who utilize it though. Creating a business built on the pillars of integrity, trust, credibility, quality, and reliability will always outlast companies that rely on political maneuvering in order to win. This means being honest with clients, employees, and shareholders. Demonstrating that you are accountable for failures as well as successes will put your company and professional reputation in a league that few companies and business leaders are able to claim the right to. Don't talk excellence, be excellent. Don't talk about solutions and results, deliver them. And remember that whenever you have to try to finagle your way to success, the success you achieve by taking such a path will be fleeting and will not last when devastation comes (and it comes on every business alike). Yet some are able to weather the storm and others are claimed by the graveyard.
